Our split routing product has the ability to differentiate between local and international traffic, and we charge separately based on how much bandwidth of each is used!
What do I get?
We will provide you with a Mikrotik based router board which, in combination with your ADSL modem (which we can also supply) will perform the split routing. The entry level offering provides you with a 5-port device, one port of which connects to your ADSL modem. This offering has no wireless. The next option up only has 3 ethernet ports, but has the option of adding wireless.
Pricing
We currently charge R 15.00 (R 17.10 including VAT) per gigabyte for local traffic and R 52.00 (R 59.28 including VAT). Setup costs is R 700.00 (R 798.00 including VAT) for our entry-level system, and R ????.00 (R 0.00) for the wireless option. Should you also obtain a server solution from us there is no setup cost involved.
You mentioned savings?
How much you will save compared to using capped accounts depends very much on your usage patterns. For example, lets say you have a 10GB account, which can cost you a few hundred rands per month (We've seen pricing from R 650 right through to just over R 1'000.00 per month, including VAT), of which you use 6GB local and 4GB international (not unreasonable, we've seen ratio's as high as 8:1 local to international, but also as low as 1:1) our solution will cost you 6 x R 15 + 4 x R 52 = R 298 (R 339.72 including VAT) per month.
Why not uncapped?
Uncapped solutions are shaped and constrained quite vigorously, and when reading the fine-print of the contracts often have strange caveats. We try to bring a little of the best of both, the throughput and bandwidth quality of capped solutions, with a cost that is significantly lower than what you're used to.
